FHISO Board Meeting held 11 December 2019 at 2130UTC

Present: Luther Tychonievich — Chair; Roger Moffat — Secretary, Treasurer & Membership Coordinator; Richard Smith — Technical Coordinator & Vice-Chair;  Seth Taplin — Technical Co-coordinator; and David Mann — Director at Large

Absent: Joel Cannon — Industry Relations Coordinator

  1. Minutes of the previous meetings: The minutes of the 2 October 2019 and 6 November 2019 Board Meetings were approved and published.
  2. Legal Status: Caritas are working on the 501(c)(3) application. Roger will make the payment of their $400 fee for 2020
  3. Tax Returns: Roger to set up a login at the IRS website so we can file our annual tax return electronically
  4. Arizona Corporation Commission: Roger to file the annual report with the AZCC
  5. Website: David will make some more tweaks to the website for display issues particularly on smaller screens.
  6. Membership: We should have a membership drive to increase our membership, especially to attract more members from non-English speaking countries. Perhaps when we have more to offer – eg drafts to vote on.
  7. Finances:
    1. PayPal Balance at 11 December 2019 = $223.51
    2. Bank of America Balance at 2 October 2019 = $643.11
  8. Technical Work: Richard provided an update on progress on ELF. Still hoping to publish something this year.
  9. Industry Outreach: Luther and Joel meet regularly with the Family History Metadata Working Group. Luther has made some other industry contacts as well.
  10. Extended Organisational Period: We can leave the extended organisational period now that the IRS have accepted our 501(c)(3) without having requested any changes, so we can end the extended organisational period. Luther moved that we end the extended organisational period, and so strike Article 24 from the By-laws. 5 votes in favour of this, none against.
  11. Next meeting: The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 22 January 2020 at 21:30UTC (4:30pm EST)

The meeting closed at 22:20UTC (5:20pm EST)
